Ricky The Remarkable Raccoon by Peggy Roger-Carey
Let me begin by saying that I am a mother and a grandmother. I also have many years of experience of caring for other people's children as in the past I have had my own in-home child care business. You can just about imagine how many children's books I have held in my hands and read to children through the years.
The type of children's books I like the most are the ones that will teach the children...when they don't realize they are even being taught.
This book falls into that category.
This is a sweet, sweet story about a homeless raccoon who is searching for a home of his own. There was a place which he felt would make a good home but it didn't work out and was even a dangerous place for him to be. He ends up finding a wonderful home in a place he never imagined he would find one.
This book would be a wonderful addition for any child's book collection. It would teach children that there are others out there who do not have a home. It also teaches compassion and understanding towards those who are homeless or even perhaps in foster care.
For those children still looking for a home...it could bring them hope and teach them to be open towards families who may not be like them but yet could still love and care for them.
A touching...to the heart story which I loved.
I highly recommend this.
I received this book for free through the www.bookcrash.com book review program in exchange for a free book review. I was not required to give a favorable review.
